What does a Certified Agile Leader® 1 do?

I am not from the software industry. Can I still become a Certified Agile Leader® 1?

Yes. You can become a Certified Agile Leader® 1 irrespective of the industry you belong to. The principles and frameworks this course offers you will empower you to lead teams successfully and handle complexities with remarkable agility and adaptability.

What is the CAL 1™ exam like?

There is no test required to earn a CAL 1™ certification. Successfully attending the three half-day, in-person, or live-online course taught by a Certified Scrum Trainer® (CST) will result in certification. After completing the course, you will receive a welcome email from Scrum Alliance® prompting you to accept the license agreement for your CAL 1™ certification. After accepting the license, you will be able to download the CAL 1™ Certificate.

Is this a live training, or a pre-recorded one?

SEUs are Scrum Education Units from Scrum Alliance, while PDUs are Professional Development Units from PMI. SEUs are credit points offered on completion of training or learning as a reward for enhancing your agile and scrum knowledge. They are gained through various activities like training, webinars, conferences, reading, and more. Accumulating SEUs eases certification renewal and promotes ongoing learning. PDUs, on the other hand, are earned in one-hour blocks for learning, teaching, or volunteering, aiding in maintaining and renewing different certification statuses.

Do I have to renew my certificate?

Yes. To maintain the validity of your CAL 1™ certification, renewal is required every two years. Go to your Scrum Alliance dashboard, select the 'Renew Certification' option under the 'Actions' heading, and submit a $100 renewal fee. In addition to the renewal fee, candidates must earn 20 Scrum Educational Units (SEUs) within the preceding two years. SEUs are obtained through participation in educational training or relevant learning opportunities.
